Disclaimer: There are glimpses of a naked booty in this video. Please excuse the nudity- we are in potty training mode.
Last week was a tough one for both me and Corbin as we had to adjust to our school schedule. Let's just say the weekend rolled around and we both needed several naps! I am enjoying my classes at O'Neal so far, and the kids really are so well-behaved. It's truly a great place to work. I have made very good friends with several faculty members, and there are plenty of mother hen types to lend a shoulder when things just get to be too much. Anyway, so far so good. We're looking forward to the fall (cooler temps, please!!!). We had a busy weekend- we had a Yo Gabba Gabba-watching and pizza-eating party Friday night, Saturday we went to First Health for a swim, and then met the Wachobs at the Farmer's Market. Corbin danced to the music of the acoustic man (as I call him). I've decided music is in Corbo's blood; though it certainly did not come from me. He likes to pretend he is playing the guitar, and he attempts to play drums on just about everything in our house. We'll have to give him some music lessons in the near future. Anybody who saw Corbin's dancing video of him at the Mexican restaurant in Birmingham will remember that he enjoys the song "Knocking on Heaven's Door." Wadda ya know? Mr. Acoustic at the farmer's market also plays that song. Corbin now sings the lyrics, "Nod,nod, noddin on heado's door" It's very cute! Saturday afternoon we went to Wal-Mart and checked out the row of shiny, new vacuums. Oh, and we bought pull-ups too. But mostly we lusted over the vacuums. Corbin wanted to buy several different models. Sunday we walked to church, then headed from there to a playground, and then further still to the indoor pool. On the way back (3.5 miles to our house), it started to pour. It was the type of east coast didn't-see-it-coming rain that you just can't predict. Corbin was holding his new Plex robot and thought it was hilarious that Plex was all wet. Our jogging stroller, by the way, has been SUCH a staple in my sanity maintenance. I will be so sad when he's too big for it. What then???? Anyway, we made zucchini fritters for dinner. Then we had a dance party (like we do most nights) before his bath. Corbin says to me, "Mama, let's dance. Get out your pooter." I get out my computer and put Pandora on. His favorite bands: The Bravery, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Metric, Muse, Beck, and Modest Mouse. These are just the bands that seem to make him move more than others. Not bad taste if ya ask me. I am lovin' life. Hope you are too!
